Robert Austin

Robert Austin is the author of Meteor and the fantasy series The Chosen. His writing journey began under extraordinary circumstances while incarcerated in a supermax prison, where he turned to storytelling after being denied access to higher education. What started as an escape into imagination soon became a passion and purpose that would shape the course of his life.

In 2001, Robert completed his first novel by hand, laying the foundation for the worlds and characters that continue to inspire his work today. Following his release in 2021, he dedicated himself to revising, publishing, and sharing the stories he had spent years creating.

Robert’s novels blend adventure, fantasy, hope, perseverance, and the struggle between light and darkness. Through his writing, he hopes to entertain readers while demonstrating the power of determination, redemption, and human imagination.

He lives with his family and continues to write new stories, expanding the worlds of Meteor and The Chosen series for readers of all ages.

When the sky falls, survival begins.

The year is 2056. Without warning, a colossal meteor storm crashes into Earth's atmosphere, plunging the planet into darkness. Electronics fail. Communications collapse. Cities burn. The sky is forever changed.

In the remote wilderness of a national park, fourteen-year-old Derek watches his world vanish in a flash of fire and ash. Alone and surrounded by devastation, he discovers a strange, glowing meteorite—one that radiates heat, pulses with energy, and seems to respond to his touch. With this mysterious object as his only source of warmth and light, Derek begins a perilous journey through a frozen, ash-choked wasteland in search of survivors, safety, and answers.

As governments crumble and power-hungry leaders rise from the shadows, the rules of civilization are rewritten. Some see the fall as the end. Others believe it is the beginning of something new.
